One week left! After several questions and much discussion, we are delighted to announce that we will now be publishing our step-by-step tutorials in both MicroPython and C/C++ (using Arduino IDE). We want to make it as easy as possible for you to develop EMIT code in your preferred programming language and IDE. This update also includes a list of tutorials that we plan to release by the time we EMIT ships to backers.

We've completed the manufacture of all EMIT PCBs and checked all components in preparation for assembly, which is set to begin next week, immediately after the Chinese mid-Autumn holidays.

The OLED variant has changed from a SSD1306 to a SH1106 controller. This is only applicable to orders placed after January 31st - existing orders are unaffected by this change.

So, boards, parts, stencils have been ordered. There are some delays due to the Coronavirus in China, but the boards are finished with production and they should ship soon. Beta boards will be shipping in March.

In this update I want to show you how easy it is to create custom machine learning models for your Piunora using tools like Edge Impulse. Edge Impulse recently added support for the Raspberry Pi 4 and, along with it, the Compute Module 4. In fact, you don't need anything but your Piunora for the entire workflow covered in this update!

Production is progressing on multiple fronts. I submitted my final design files to my PCBA fab four weeks ago. I've also been in contact with a fab to produce recyclable paper packaging for Piunora, and I just got pictures for the samples that I ordered. Those samples arrived at my main production fab so they can test packing up the final production prototypes once they are ready. Unfortunately, issues with PCB silk screening have forced me to push the estimated ship date back to the first half of October. Thank you for your patience, and see below for more details.
