Project update 7 of 8
The pre-production analog boards are scheduled to ship from our assembler this Friday (7/19), so we expect to be checking them out next week. This will be the final step in verifying the production design, so we’re looking forward to having the boards back!
A customer inquired about the tuning speed of the VXSDR 20, and there were similar questions pre-launch, so we made some measurements of the older design last week. These showed that tuning the transmit or receive synthesizers took roughly 2-3 milliseconds, so changing both frequencies required about 4-6 milliseconds. These measurements were made on the older design, while the production version uses a faster microcontroller and faster SPI links, so we expect the production systems will tune somewhat faster: the total tuning time for both transmitter and receiver should be 2-4 milliseconds.
If you have any similar questions, please get in touch through the Ask Vesperix Corporation a technical question link at the bottom of our Crowd Supply campaign page and remember, campaign pricing will only be available until July 25.
