Project Update · Building a LimeSDR Remote Radio Head
1.010
In a new post up on the Myriad-RF blog, Andrew takes us through the hardware build for a remote radio head, which is to say a system that integrates RF and digital converters etc. that is used together with a second networked, remote system which then runs the actual SDR application.

BlueIO832Mini
We have recently begun the certification process for BlueIO832 Mini, and we should be done in a couple of weeks. We are also working on a new app called BlueIODevin. This update also includes a video that shows how you can use BlueIO832 Mini to program MicroPython wirelessly.

We’ve got exciting news from Centylab! The PocketPD you know and love is now available in a new version, one designed with drone pilots and ham radio operators in mind. Instead of the standard screw-terminal block, this version ships with two unsoldered output connectors — an Anderson Powerpole PP15/45 connector and an XT60 connector. You choose the one that fits your setup best and solder it directly to the board.

Project Update · Pothos FM Radio

In this new video Karl demonstrates another application with the LimeSDR Mini, but this time instead of being put together using GNU Radio Companion, the Pothos data-flow framework was used.

As microcontrollers become cheaper & more capable, this makes them perfect for building disposable hacking payloads - and especially for wireless reconnaissance! In this talk, Alex Lynd shares how he builds low-cost hacking tools, wireless implants, and even a snail-mail payload that can phish your online credentials - all using $5 microcontrollers! He also discusses how he uses low-cost hardware to lower the barrier to entry for security researchers & cybersecurity beginners. He also discusses his favorite boards & development techniques, and talks about the implications of low-cost hardware in the world of offensive security.

What the Arduino did for the microcontroller, the ESP32 is doing for wireless devices. With built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, and multiple toolchains available, the ESP32 is one of the easiest ways to get started - and keep going - in the world of wireless connectivity. Join me for an overview of the devices and two of the most popular tool chains: Python and the Arduino IDE with advantages and disadvantages of each. Follow the story of my own ESP32 projects, including a Bluetooth 1935 tube radio simulator and a rotary telephone Bluetooth “numeric keypad.”

Learn about ultra-miniaturization of wireless sensor systems enabled by integrating every electronic component into a single piece of standard CMOS silicon. These new chip-scale systems are only millimeters in size and require only a power source and an antenna to operate fully independently. This talk will primarily focus on strategies to eliminate the off-chip oscillator(s) typically required by RF systems-on-chip and the resultant ramifications on wireless communication, and will also discuss sensor integration and electrically-small antennas to make a complete chip-scale wireless system.

Develop a wireless battery application with Nordic's nRF54L15+nPM2100 on a brand new Seeed board with potential to add anything in the Nordic playbook from AI/ML to channel sounding. You will get to keep the hardware.

Project Update · Packaging & FM Radio Module Library
1.000
We are incredibly excited to announce that we have met our funding goal!! Your support made this project a reality, so THANK YOU for helping us along. Now the hard part begins as we work to get all orders out to our backers on time. We've already begun making arrangements with our CM in China to start things rolling. In this update, we talk about our packaging designs, the CircuitPython library for our FM Radio module, and our recent appearance on Adafruit's weekly show.

I have spent the past few days working to get ctxLink running with the highly extensible Visual Studio Code (VSCode) development environment. VSCode makes it quite straightforward to use a typical "makefile" project for ARM development.

This is the big picture of wireless you will not find anywhere else. Wireless is invisible, so we will concentrate on a visual representation. From this, you will learn where to start, what to do, what not to do, and how to go about it. It finishes with a discussion of how to pursue a career in wireless at the graduate level.
