This week, host Helen Leigh chats with creator Robin Reiter about his Pixel Pump project, currently funding on Crowd Supply. Pixel Pump is an open-source, manual pick-and-place machine for PCB artisans. They cover far-ranging topics about print farms, the joys of designing your own packaging, and using MicroPython in a product.

Pixlpal is designed to be minimalist, yet versatile. Every design decision, both hardware and software, was guided by the goal of creating a device that is approachable, adaptable, and easy to understand, while still being powerful enough for advanced use cases. Rather than optimizing solely for appearance or novelty, Pixlpal prioritizes practicality, longevity, and openness.

An ESP32-based compute module to replace the Raspberry Pi CM3

We've open sourced the Eduponics React Native app that allows you to run the Eduponics app on both Android and iOS. Our decision to open source the app reflects our understanding that members of the community are interested in building, modifying, and customizing Eduponics as they wish. We've also updated our MicroPython code to support Eduponics Mini v2.0 and written a QA script you can use to ensure that everything is working as expected. That code has been uploaded to PyPI, so you can easily install it using the upip command!

We have kind of a big grab bag of news this week, including production progress, the challenges of Daylight Savings Time, and Supercon.
