Key Benefits

Please see our second video below to learn more about Hub and Bespoke and why we decided to produce this coat.

Features

Concept

We referenced a classic form for our city-cycling coat: the pea coat. Functionally, a double-breasted coat affords extra fabric to protect the lap from rain while pedaling. Stylistically, the buttons and deep navy color suggest an urban aesthetic, in contrast to the bright colors of sporty zippered jackets.

Made in Seattle

This coat is designed, developed, and manufactured in Seattle, Washington.

Dimensions and Sizing

The coat has a relaxed cut through the chest and waist to allow for layering in colder months. The waist can be cinched with an interior drawstring to trim up the fit.

SmallMediumLarge
Chest36" - 38"39" - 41"42" - 44"around body across the apex of the chest
Waist29" - 32"33" - 35"36" - 38"below waistline where you wear your pants
Sleeve Length32" - 33"33" - 34"34" - 35"from cervical bone at center back of neck, along shoulder, across slightly bent elbow and down to the wrist

Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions. All noted in inches.

Care Instructions

Spot clean as necessary. Machine wash warm and hang to dry. Do not bleach.

Production and Delivery

The pattern and grading for this coat are finalized, and materials have already been reserved with the suppliers. We have a production plan in place with a cut and sew facility located in Seattle, and production will begin as soon as we meet our funding goal. If we meet our goal at the end of the 30-day campaign, then we estimate shipping by mid to late December.

The funds generated from a successful campaign will go towards procurement and production costs. Sales beyond the first $15,000 will provide seed money for our next project!

Risks and Challenges

This is not our first production effort. Hub and Bespoke successfully produced a women’s coat last year, and co-founder Juliette has 20+ years of previous development experience in both the apparel design and wholesale textile industries. Additionally, by working with local manufacturers, we are able to respond to issues quickly to keep our production schedule on track. We do not anticipate any problems with the production of this coat, but if anything arises, we promise to keep our community of supporters well informed.

About Hub and Bespoke

Hub and Bespoke started as a class project at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, an MBA school founded on the idea that business can be a vehicle for making the world better. In 2010, we opened doors to our shop in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. Since then, the business has evolved from a retail concept into an apparel and accessories developer.

Our Vision

Our mission is to support the current urban cyclist, as well as entice the city-wary cyclist to commute by bike. It’s our dream to live in a city where bicycles have transformed the streets into quieter, more social byways. We hope that by offering clothing and accessories that are functional for biking and designed for city life, we will normalize the activity of riding a bike and simplify the decision to take to two wheels.

Beyond the Campaign

Along with the Women’s Riding Coat we introduced a year ago, the Men’s Riding Coat is our first major offering under our own label. But we believe there are still many products missing from the urban bicycling marketplace. A successful campaign with Crowd Supply will position us to continue developing products that meet the urban bike commuter’s dual needs of form and function.
