Mixtile Blade 3 is an affordable, power-efficient SBC built around the next-generation, 8 nm Rockchip RK3588 processor. Perfect for rapid development, AI-application prototyping, and edge computing, it allows you to cluster multiple Mixtile Blade 3 SBCs to scale your deployment.
Out-of-the-box, Mixtile Blade 3 is a stackable computer with an onboard PCIe Gen3 edge connector that allows you to integrate several high-performance hardware platforms into a small form factor. Working together, that hardware delivers a network speed of up to 20 Gb/s and a memory bandwidth of up to 136 GB/s. A cluster of Mixtile Blade 3s in a 19-inch 2U chassis provides up to 600 processor cores and 1320 GHz of computing power while drawing less than 1500 W of power.
The leading-edge technology in Mixtile Blade 3 offers powerful, energy-efficient computational support for a diverse range of applications. Packed with potential, Mixtile Blade 3 tightly integrates two quad-core ARM processors and a separate NEON co-processor with support for powerful embedded-hardware engines that optimize performance for high-end, distributed edge computing. It combines high-performance computing for advanced computer vision and multimedia connectivity through the dynamic integration of hardware and software.
Mixtile Blade 3 ships with a customized Debian Linux distribution preloaded so that you can take full advantage of the board’s many hardware features right out of the box. It also comes with source code and SDKs, e.g., Buildroot, and Yocto, which greatly simplify development. Specially designed for cluster applications, Mixtile Blade 3’s TCP/IP over PCIe solution offers performance properties beyond what can be achieved with a traditional network interconnected system, even without modifying or recompiling the existed software.
As a user-friendly way to explore real-time edge processing in small- to medium-scale deployments, Mixtile Blade 3 is a highly optimized tool for leveraging the opportunities presented by the Industry 5.0 revolution. And, thanks in part to a built-in HDMI interface and on-board support for the encoding and decoding of high-quality video formats, it is equally well suited to a broad range of other applications—from personal computing to image processing to video streaming. Finally, access to shared storage accommodates parallel processing that greatly increases the scalability of projects built around this platform.

Over a decade of collaboration has allowed us to establish a deep relationship with our manufacturing partners in China. That relationship will benefit all aspects of production and help us deliver Mixtile Blade 3 boards in a timely manner. We are currently on schedule to complete our initial production run in June, and we expect to begin mass production shortly after that, once we’ve concluded our testing and verification process. We will post frequent manufacturing updates for backers and pre-order customers throughout the production phase of the project.
After completing our production run of Mixtile Blade 3 boards, we will box everything up and send it along to Crowd Supply’s fulfillment partner, Mouser Electronics, who will distribute products to backers worldwide. You can learn more about Crowd Supply’s fulfillment service under Ordering, Paying, and Shipping in their guide.
As is the case for most current projects that require the manufacture of electronic components, the global parts shortage is undoubtedly the most significant risk to Mixtile Blade 3. While we remain confident in our ability to secure all necessary parts, produce these boards, and ship them to backers, we nonetheless face a non-trivial risk of delays. To mitigate that risk, we’ve stayed in contact with our suppliers and pre-stocked certain key components. In addition, we are always on the lookout for backup suppliers in case we need an alternative.
"The company says it’s possible to create a cluster of 75 Mixtile Blade 3s in a 19-inch 2U chassis with up to 600 processor cores while drawing less than 1500 W of power."
"Rich connectivity and support for advanced video encoding/decoding techniques make it suitable for high-end multimedia applications."
"The Pico-ITX board can be used as a standalone SBC, but it is primarily designed to link up to other stacked Blade 3 boards in a cluster configuration via its PCIe Gen3 x4 edge connector."
"「Blade 3」を見つけた時は、いまさらU.2コネクタを見るとは思ってもいませんでしたが、でも確かにクラスター化には向いているコネクタだなぁと感心しました。 インターフェースの豊富なRK3588だからこそ実現できたボードとも言えます。"
