Other mesh systems are a bit of a pain to set up. Usually there's some phone app involved that requires you to register with the company, give them your email address, etc. Then you follow some lengthy process of setting up each node, which typically includes lots of spinning lights and waiting, while you cross your fingers and pray that the node eventually connects like it's supposed to. The mesh-setup process for Maxwell, on the other hand, is quite simple. This update breaks it down for you.

I'm very excited to be launching Maxwell today! I've struggled with Wi-Fi for years. It has let me down in so many different ways: random crashes, outages, poor signal strength, disappointing speeds, buggy phone apps, and companies dropping support for their products or going out of business, to name just a few examples. I want to be in charge of my own Wi-Fi! I also want a mesh system that is powerful, stable, secure, flexible, and easy to install, use, and monitor. I believe Maxwell is all the above, and I'm excited for you all to try it out!

Long time no see! We've been hard at work on expansions and demos, and we're looking forward to showing them off in the coming days and weeks. This update highlights three of them: mini::obd, mini::lab, and the usb-can adapter.

EMIT
It's easy to think of EMIT as a 'hardware project.' Even for us. But the past week has been full of stark reminders that there's a lot more to IoT that just the hardware! The good news is that, after a fairly stressful week, we have improved EMIT's firmware significantly and released an open source MQTT monitoring tool that you might find helpful when implementing your own projects.

Hi backers! Crowd Supply is going to start shipping the early-bird orders soon. The rest of the orders will ship later still, in January next year. The Early Bird batch was actually manufactured some time ago, and our demonstration firmware, which sends all sensor data over BLE to our phone app, or to your browser to show pretty graphs, wasn't ready, so that firmware needs to be flashed on to Blip to use the App or WebBluetooth demos.

It's been an extremely hectic month what with visiting Barcelona for the 8th RISC-V Workshop and finally procuring DDR3x8 DRAM. Card production is finally underway and we now have a realistic target for delivery.

After ordering a slough of parts, including one of the obscurely-named On-the-Go Host-Charger cables which we finally found, we've been able to test and verify the two cables needed to turn any Computer Card into a standalone computer, without the need of either of the Micro Desktop or Laptop housings. We've added it as a pledge level to the campaign

We’re staying with a friend in Hong Kong as we oversee progress on the laptop's PCBs. The revised EOMA68-A20 was submitted for prototyping and may actually be ready within under ten days. Enquiries are still outstanding for tracking down a S5P6818 Reference Design.
