AnyShake Explorer is an open-source, professional-grade seismic monitoring system. In a category where black box, overpriced systems are the norm, Explorer changes everything.
Designed for researchers, engineers, citizen scientists, and enthusiasts alike, offering environmental scientists unparalleled transparency and flexibility. By combining a high-sensitivity 3-axis geophone and 3-axis accelerometer with advanced, low-noise electronics and our cross-platform AnyShake Observer software, Explorer delivers powerful seismic insights that rival proprietary solutions, making advanced earth science affordable.
AnyShake is fully open-source—both hardware and software—allowing complete transparency, customization, and community-driven improvements. Whether you’re fine-tuning sensor calibration, integrating with third-party software, or deploying a network of seismic stations, AnyShake can do it all.
But just because it’s open source doesn’t mean AnyShake Explorer lacks features. Quite the opposite–it can capture high-resolution 32-bit geophone data and 16-bit accelerometer readings, output data into real-time monitoring tools, and is easy to integrate with its standard RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces. Worried about power consumption? AnyShake’s ultra-low ~0.6 W consumption lets you deploy it using solar or battery power for long stretches of data capture.
Its compact size and elegant design make it great for long-term installation and study, like monitoring vibrations and stress indicators on structures. Its ease of use and Observer software make it ideal for citizen scientists and students alike. Wonder if that jolt was your imagination? Now you can look back at the data.
