First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who backed the campaign,
supported us with messages, reported issues, helped fix them, ported
their apps to support XTRX, and shared their test results with us.
Precursor is a mobile, open source electronics platform. Similar to how a
Raspberry Pi or an Arduino can be transformed into an IoT gadget with the
addition of a couple breakout boards, some solder, and a bit of code, Precursor
is a framework upon which you can assemble a wide variety of DIY mobile
applications. This update talks a bit about what makes Precursor unique, and
then moves on to the ins and outs of our design philosophy.
A few days before Christmas 2018, we assembled the last one of the Reform Beta units. 13 Reform laptops exist in total; 10 went out to the adventurous people who pre-ordered them, two are for ourselves and one went to Crowd Supply in Portland as the demo unit for the upcoming campaign.

Today we're launching the crowdfunding of a laptop that doesn't have glued-in batteries, soldered-in storage or "security" chips that prevent you from exercising your right to repair. MNT Reform is a daring design that is as open and repairable as we could make it. It's chunky, robust (black anodized, milled aluminum), has a mechanical keyboard, and an optical trackball (or a multitouch trackpad if you want).
