We have had a big week of announcements and events. We visited Maker Faire Bay Area, hosted a small meet-up, experimented with RC controllers and much more...

We're happy to announce that the ProxmarkPro campaign is officially live!

Initial support is now available for running Portsdown on a LimeNET Micro with the official seven inch Raspberry Pi Touch Screen and Camera.

By designing the schematic and PCB of ymfc-mini-drone, I've also acquired the knowledge of designing a SDR board, and I have recently designed and tested my own version of RTL-SDR. As an SDR hobbyist, designing my own board and firmware is much more satisfying than playing with existing software in user space. By sharing this project, I hope more SDR hobbyists will benefit from it. Check out the video in this update for more information.

One of the key applications for LimeNET Micro is spectrum scanning — taking power measurements and looking at spectrum utilisation, along with network availability and performance, etc. In support of this we’ve been working on an application called LimeSCAN, which allows spectrum scan data to be uploaded to a central resource and explored via a web interface.

Have you ever felt like your beloved projects deserve the right to speak? And not just 'beep beep' and 'ta da', but actual, informative, appealing sounds? How about two-channels stereo audio? You could have some fun with that, right? Surely someone has written Wi-Fi-radio firmware...but what if I told you that someone has even created an ESP32-powered Spotify smart speaker? That should be enough to keep those two cores busy, don't you think? Just add a Lithium battery for portability and you have yourself a complete product!

LimeNET Micro was originally designed with narrowband applications in mind, such as GSM and various IoT air interfaces. For this reason and so as to also keep the Raspberry Pi Compute Module USB entirely free for other uses, the decision was made to use SPI bus for SDR interfacing. However, since launching the campaign we’ve received quite a few requests from users who would benefit from being able to use higher sample rates and bandwidths.

This quick update will demonstrate how to use the audio capabilities of the Loud ESP board with streaming audio software.
