Over the past few months we have released two new demonstration videos, and there have been some user uploaded videos demonstrating the KrakenSDR in action as well.

Like many others, we have been severely delayed by COVID restrictions and the effects it's having on the supply chain, and I'd like to thank everyone who is keen to get a hold of a KrakenSDR for their patience. The ball is rolling faster now, and we have finally received our latest KrakenSDR prototypes!

Attention, snickerdoodlers! Two important updates. First, if you still want a piSmasher, you need to take action now. Second, we will soon have a new website for hosting documentation and other snickerdoodle resources.

Hello snickerdoodlers: three topics we wanted to cover in this update.

By this time next month, we will have shipped the last of all snickerdoodles, breakyBreakys, piSmashers, and cookieJars ordered through Crowd Supply. Aside from some accessories (e.g. jumpers, SD cards) – which are in the works and will be delivered shortly thereafter – this will close the book on our crowdfunding efforts. 

After a stupidly long delay, I finally managed to get PCBs for our new design, so I used them to assemble two boards, and I think they look great. I hope you all enjoy the new look! This update also includes details about PlainDAQ filters and a handful of new diagrams.

Hi Everyone! First off I want to give a big thanks to all the backers. Your support has shown me there is a future for the Glow Glyphs and I’m not the only one excited about an interactive LED alphabet, I appreciate it immensely, thank you! We’re at the halfway point, 9% funded and two weeks in. Unfortunately, the campaign is not where I’d like it to be but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped working on the Glow Glyphs, there’s been plenty of action happening behind-the-scenes so let me fill you in on the details.

Back in August, Lime provided 16x base stations for use in creating a GSM network at the bi-annual festival for those with an inquisitive mind or an interest in making things, EMF Camp. In this video, EMF Camp’s Sam Machin gives a quick demo of a LimeNET Micro connected to the same GSM network core that was used for the event, showing a call set up between two handsets.

A few of the parts we were planning to use went end-of-life just as we were in the process of setting up a volume production run. The good news is that we’ve identified alternative parts and updated our design to accommodate them. The new parts are due to arrive in about two weeks, and we expect to ship outstanding orders before the end of November.

We have been hard at work to come up with the LimeNET Gateway so that our backers can have backhaul cellular connectivity. LimeNET Gateway box offers Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity backed up by a connection to any 2G, 3G, or 4G macrocell.

Welcome to the latest addition to the LimeNET family, LimeSIM, which is to be used in conjunction with LimeNET Gateway. The LimeNET Gateway, like all LimeNET systems is multi standard and provides connectivity to the nearest macro base station via 2G through to 4G air interface.

So, the year is 2018, and there does not exist a single commercial "System-on-a-Chip" (SoC) that is capable of running 3D mobile games and playing 1080p60 video, where the end-user, including commercial customers, can say that they have full control over their devices.

We are pleased to report that the first production batch of LimeRFE boards is now going through assembly. Our engineering team are lined up to carry out detailed lab testing of these units on Monday. This will be followed by comprehensive production testing before the first shipment goes out to Crowd Supply for order fulfillment, which we expect to be in around 10 working days time. This update includes a video of the first set of boards going through the pick-and-place line at the fab.

We are pleased to report that the latest version of SDR Console—the popular, easy-to-use Windows application—now includes support for LimeRFE. This update includes a brief description of SDR Console's new features along with a video demonstration.

We sent a 0v3 prototype board to radio amateur and GNSS engineer Daniel Estévez (EA4GPZ), so he could put it through its paces and provide feedback as we fine tune the design. Even with a damaged prototype, his Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR) transmissions from Madrid were being picked up as far away as the Canary Islands, Netherlands and Northern England.

We are pleased to report that production test has been set up and we have all of the components with the exception of the FPGAs, which were dispatched last week and should be with the assembly house later this week.
