Project Update · QUARK's Operational Scheme

Here's a detailed look at QUARK's operation scheme

Yellow in action
In January, our original backers received their Home Assistant Yellow Kit PoE! With this, all our backers have received their units (with just a few exceptions, see below), and many of the pre-orders have been fulfilled as well. The crowdfunding campaign made Home Assistant Yellow possible and we are now entering the next stage in its journey: Home Assistant Yellow will enter ongoing production and become more widely available through various distributors in the future.

Matter is a new and upcoming smart home standard that is scheduled to launch in the fall. We’ve been hard at work on Matter support for Home Assistant. This includes working with the Home Assistant Yellow. As noted in the last update, we are also working on the co-existence of Zigbee and Matter.

Project Update · We are Shipping! Plus, POE Updates
0.010
Over the past two years, we have been designing, prototyping, and building a product that we think will be something to last for years to come. This is something that we wanted to give our Home Assistant users as an easy way to get started, but also to upgrade as your home grows. Well, this dream is finally coming to fruition.

Today only good news all around! Despite many Yellows on their way already, the last few weeks have been a busy time for us still: The update of the PoE version, smaller production improvements and lining up the next production runs have been the main focus.

We are excited to announce the launch of our latest neurostimulation platform, NeuroStimDuino v2.1, which comes with new features and improved functionality relative to its predecessor. We recently shipped a batch to Crowd Supply, and NeuroStimDuino 2.1 is currently in stock!

Since their launch several years ago, ChipWhisperer-Lite and ChipWhisperer-Pro have remained in active development. So why mess with what's working well? The main reason is that the FPGA family used in both the Lite and the Pro, Xilinx Spartan6, is getting long in the tooth. The IDE needed to develop for this FPGA is so old that Xilinx moved it to their "archive" section. The ChipWhisperer-Lite FPGA is full to bursting, which makes adding new features difficult. And there were lots of new features we had been wanting to add to ChipWhisperer-Lite. So, ChipWhisperer-Husky was born!

Welcome to our big post-campaign update! We've been delayed on getting this out to you, but not delayed on the important work of getting ChipWhisperer-Husky into your hands. Lots of good updates & so far none of those dreaded supply chain delays. First, some quick highlights:

With just over a day remaining in the campaign, we go over what we've got planned for the crucial act of testing.

Good news from PCBWay, the two pre-production boards with the new silkscreen layer are on its way. Hopefully next week I can share some images. In the meantime, let’s have a look at the AS5048 rotary encoder, one of many choices for having a closed loop BLDC motor implementation.

We've finally launched our campaign for Signet HC. With Signet HC we've created an encrypted flash drive that builds on the original Signet's password and personal information database features but takes advantage of Signet HC's more advanced specifications of the Signet HC to provide encrypted mass storage capabilities, two-factor authentication, and asymmetric cryptographic features.

Project Update · Coronavirus Delaying PCB Assembly
0.010
We had hoped PCBWay would start assembly of our boards shortly after the Chinese New Year, but concerns over coronavirus have delayed the factory reopening to Feb 17th – an additional delay of nearly three weeks. As such, we don’t expect be able to deliver the product until mid March to Crowd Supply. Which means the Signet HC should reach your hands around early April.
