Hey everyone! It is time for another update. Read the full update.
Hey everyone. It is time for another update. tldr; As we mentioned in the last update, our previous PnP was not viable and we needed outside help, as well as a major update to our shop. The new workshop is almost fully set up and we are getting close to resuming manufacturing of the Glasgow on our new PnP machine. Read the full update.
Hey everyone. We are making steady progress on multiple fronts of the project. tldr; We started production after changing over our in-house PnP machine to Glasgow, and we are very slowly assembling boards. We're testing the boards and setup to the best of our abilities at the moment. Read the full update.
Hey everyone, it has been a long time since the last update. Please accept our apologies for this. The main reason for this delay was the fact that not much was progressing. We have been waiting for the last parts to arrive, and there wasn't much to write about since we had no significant news to report. This changes today - We finally have some good news! There is still a lot work to do before we can begin shipping, however, now that we have all the Glasgow parts on hand, we are getting ready for production! Read further for more details about all the different parts of the project and what lies ahead. Read the full update.
The chip shortage is still in full swing, and vendors continue to push out part delivery schedules into 2022. But we have some good news - We're almost ready to build the first 200 early bird Glasgows. We know that a lot of you are in the industry and have connections to contract manufacturers. So if you or your CM happen to have some TPS73101DBVT or TLV73312PQRVRQ1 from a previous project sitting somewhere on a shelf and are willing to sell them to us, it would be a HUGE help to push the project towards the finishing line. In this update we also review the status of the enclosures, show the RAM-Pak Add-in, and go into much more detail about the progression of part sourcing for Glasgow. Please read on for more! Read the full update.
Our usual process of ordering off-the-shelf parts for Early Bird rewards has not been going smoothly due to global chip shortages. Our vendors are extending their component-delivery estimates through the end of this year, and the whole timeline of the project has been shifted as a result. We are working hard to find alternative sourcing so that we can begin manufacturing Glasgows. We are still hoping to produce Early Bird units this year, but standard Glasgows might be delayed even further. Read on for (rather a lot of) additional details. Read the full update.
This update covers some development news and takes a deep dive into the history of the case design and development. Read the full update.
We're in the last few hours of the Glasgow campaign, and we're ecstatic to see how far it has come. We're also looking forward to getting started with production! Meanwhile, if you know someone who'd want to receive their Glasgow as part of the initial production run, we'd be very grateful if you'd remind them before that clock runs down. This update also includes information about post-campaign availability, an upcoming price increase, and aluminum case prototypes. Read the full update.
Whitequark and Piotr will be hosting an AMA chat on the Crowd Supply Discord Chat server tomorrow (Weds Jan 27th) at 1pm PST. Join us and ask your questions about Glasgow! Read the full update.
