Project Update · From Gas Detector to Fume Extractor
0.010
In August 2019 I created an ESP8266-powered, open source, Wi-Fi dev board for monitoring indoor air quality and detecting dangerous gases called ANAVI Gas Detector. I placed one ANAVI Gas Detector in my kitchen and soon after that I placed another on my desk for maker activities. At that time while soldering I was using a bulky and noisy smoke absorber. Naturally, an idea came to my mind: let's upgrade the gas detector to a fume extractor by putting a brushless 5V DC fan and a filter. ANAVI Fume Extractor was born!

This tutorial explains the exact steps of how to assemble the ANAVI Fume Extractor developer kit. The whole process can take up to 30-40min. A screwdriver is required.

In the previous update we have covered the exact steps to assemble a kit with ANAVI Gas Detector. The next step is to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

All ANAVI Gas Detector kits include a MQ-135 analog gas sensor module for detecting air quality. According to the data sheet of MQ-135, the sensitivity characteristics of the sensor depend on temperature and humidity. Because of this, the Advanced and Developer kits of ANAVI Gas Detector also include a HTU21D I2C temperature and humidity sensor module. For everyone's convenience, the default Arduino sketch for ANAVI Gas Detector supports both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Hello Asylum backers. The time has come. We are shipping bikes. Since receiving our initial batch of frames, weve been busy with quality control and assembling our complete builds. Our initial bike builds took longer than subsequent ones because we had to hone in precise assembly measurements. Each bike frame size has different cable and housing measurements. Once we had built up a full size...
