We’ve had a chance to use the devices more and we’ve discovered that the device can stall under certain circumstances: The stalls occur when the USB power line is nosier than the device can handle, which seems to happen mostly on desktops and high-powered laptops when the system load is high (such as when playing a 3D game) or when exiting sleep mode. This causes either the USB interface or the eMMC chip to stall and the device needs to be removed and reinserted to recover. The good news is that the problem is most likely to occur when the device is idle, so there is very little risk of data loss. The bad news is that on some systems you might want to unplug the device when you’re not using it in order to avoid stalls. If you find yourself encountering this problem often we will offer to exchange your device for a replacement once we have a solution. Read the full update.
We've learned that Signet HC has finally arrived in the hands of many of our backers. If you haven't received yours yet it should be on its way soon. Thanks for everyone's patience through our various delays. Read the full update.
We have finally completed assembly and testing of the Signet HC units for the campaign and will ship soon. Read the full update.
We've made significant progress toward completing two factor authentication features in Signet HC and PCB assembly is nearly finished. Read the full update.
We had hoped PCBWay would start assembly of our boards shortly after the Chinese New Year, but concerns over coronavirus have delayed the factory reopening to Feb 17th – an additional delay of nearly three weeks. As such, we don’t expect be able to deliver the product until mid March to Crowd Supply. Which means the Signet HC should reach your hands around early April. Read the full update.
At this point all the parts for final assembly have been received by PCBWay. Read the full update.
A brief update on manufacturing and development. Read the full update.
We are well on our way to mass producing Signet HC units, although a component shortage will delay assembly completion until January. We have the initial batches of all of our parts, which all seem to be up to specifications. Read the full update.
The campaign is entering it’s last few days and we are excited about the next steps. If you're planning on pledging it will be best to do so during campaign to get your Signet HC made in the first production batch and receive it earlier. Read the full update.
The campaign is coming to an end now with only a week left. Thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign so far. Our campaign pricing has been set as low as we thought we could make it for our backers and still get the project off the ground. We will continue to offer Signet HC at Crowd Supply after the campaign, but we will be increasing the price of a single Signet HC to $90/pc and orders made might be fulfilled 1-2 months later as another production batch will be underway shortly. We've finally launched our campaign for Signet HC. With Signet HC we've created an encrypted flash drive that builds on the original Signet's password and personal information database features but takes advantage of Signet HC's more advanced specifications of the Signet HC to provide encrypted mass storage capabilities, two-factor authentication, and asymmetric cryptographic features.
